Yahoo! Maps

Just like Google or Microsoft, Yahoo also possesses a map facility which they've named Yahoo! Maps (Yahoo! Mapas in Spanish) which means you can explore any location on the planet from a bird's eye view.

Yahoo! Maps employs the same system as Google Maps or Virtual Earth to provide different types of view: map, satellite or hybrid. The map option delivers a physical map of the area selected with road networks shown; the satellite option shows an aerial photograph of the zone requested; and, lastly, the hybrid option combines the previous two.

The Yahoo! Maps navigation bar comes with four choices to help with finding locations on land masses: country, state, city or street. Select one of these to take you to the selected area or to move your viewpoint away from it.

Not just that, Yahoo! Maps also tells you which route to take to travel from one town to another. Follow the numbered directions generated by the application to get to your destination successfully. Drag and release the line indicating the route offered by Yahoo! Maps to see another alternative route.

Depending on which country you are exploring with Yahoo! Maps, other functions are available; these are the real-time traffic situation, a search facility for finding businesses and sending the maps to a mobile phone or carphone.
